STArting Young's Mission
STArting Young is a new program we've started where we highlight youth artists with the help of local artist, art teacher, and STArt Now recipient, Kelly King, by giving them a voice and the ability to show their work in Narrow Magazine. The goal of the program is to support and to make sure young artists of today know that there are many who believe in them and want to champion them. Each new issue of Narrow features two new winners with an image of their work as well as a statement of support from their teacher, and most importantly the students get to give their own artist statement. Different teachers from all over the county and across all creative disciplines nominate their students. The recipients are also featured on social media platforms and
will have their art work shown in the first STArting Young Art Show that will be held in the beginning of 2022. This program would not be possible without the dedication of Kelly King and her continuing and undying love of art, and we are truly blessed
to have her as a part of the STArt Now Team.
